Tutak

The Tutak family originates from Nowosielce Austria. Today, Nowosielce is near Sanok in south-eastern Poland.




Gen 6:
Marcin Tutak was born in 1864 in Nowosielce Austria. He married Catharina Wenta.
Catharina Wenta

Marcin emigrated twice from Nowosielce Austria through Bremen Germany to New York. He sailed first on the SS Willehad, leaving Bremen on 23 Nov 1899 and arriving in New York 8 Dec 1899. He was listed as 35, married and a laborer. He could not read or write and was listed as having Galacia nationality and of the Polish race. He travelled with Stanislaw Tutak, possibly his brother. Family tells of Martin as not liking the States and he went back to Nowosielce . He emigrated a second time, through Bremen on 13 May 1905 and arriving in New York 24 May 1905. This time he travelled alone, and could read and write.

Gen 5:
Jedrzej Marcin Tutak was born 28 Nov 1897 in Nowosielce Austria. He died 29 Jan 1980 in Toledo, OH. Jedrzej married Antoinette Furlik.

Jedrzej emigrated from Nowosielce Austria through Bremen Germany to New York, where his name was changed to Andrew. He sailed on the SS President Grant 31 Oct 1909 and arrived in New York 11 Nov 1909. He was 18 years old, single, a farm laborer, able to read and write and was of Austrian nationality and Polish race. He stated he left his father, Marcin Tutak, in Nowosielce and was headed to see his friend in Willimantic CT. He had $20 on him, had never been in the States before and was listed as 5'6" with fair hair and blue eyes. He travelled with Maria Terczak (Tyrczyk?), Jan Furlik and Jan Tutak, possibly his cousin. Andrew Martin Tutak petitioned for citizenship in the United States 16 Sep 1938.

Antonina Furlik was born 11 Mar 1897 in
Nowosielce Austria. She died 8 Nov 1979 in Toledo, OH.

Gen 4:
Irene Catherine Tutak was born 27 Mar 1920 in Everson, Fayette Co., PA. She died 30 Jun 2002 at Hospice Of Northwest Ohio and was buried 2 Jul 2002 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Bedford Township, MI. Irene married Jesse Gordon Null 10 Apr 1948 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Toledo, OH.
Jesse Gordon Null "Gordie" was born 6 Aug 1922.
