John Lay was born about 1699 in CT. He married Martha.



Gen 11:
Jesse Lay was born about 1720 in Whitley Co., NC. He married Hannah Gibson.
Hannah Gibson was born about 1726 in Caswell Co., NC and died about 1796 in TN. She was the daughter of Mary Duncan and John Gibson.

Thomas Lay was born about 1730 in Pittsylvania Co., VA. He married Nancy Middleton.
Nancy Middleton was born about 1730.



Gen 10:
Jesse Duncan Lay II (son of Jesse Lay and Hannah Gibson) was born about 1774 in Wilkes Co., NC and died about 1862 in Whitley Co., KY. He married Hannah Lay.
Hannah Lay was born 27 Nov 1774 in VA. She was the daughter of Jesse's cousin, William Lay and Mary Duncan.

William Lay (son of Thomas Lay and Nancy Middleton) was born about 1755 in Wilkes Co., NC. He married the above-mentioned Mary Duncan (second spouse) after about 1758.
Mary Duncan was born about 1725 and died about 1806 in Caswell Co., NC.


Gen 9:
John Michael Lay (son of Jesse Duncan Lay II and Hannah Lay) was born 10 SEp 1790 in Campbell Co., TN and died Sep 1874 in Elk Valley, Campbell Co., TN. He married about 1810 in Knox Co., KY, Rachel Foley.
Rachel Foley was born 5 Feb 1789 in VA and died 3 Nov 1879 in Elk Valley, Campbell Co., TN. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Green and Moses Foley Sr.


Gen 8:
Reverend James A Lay was born 20 Feb 1821 in Whitley Co., KY and died 9 Jan 1905 in Scott Co., TN. He married 17 Oct 1840 in Campbell Co., TN, Iris Isabelle Grant.
Iris Isabelle Grant was born 22 Sep 1816 in Campbell Co., TN. She is the daughter of Mary Ridenour and John Grant.
They had eleven children.


Gen 7:
Henry Lay was born 18 Apr 1854 in Campbell Co., TN and died 3 Sep 1904 in Scott Co., TN. Henry married 18 Apr 1870 in Scott Co., TN, Persidia Smith.
Persidia Smith was born 19 Mar 1849 in Campbell Co., TN. She was the daughter of Sally Smith and Drury Smith II.

Charity Jeffers was born about 1882 and died 27 Apr 1964 in Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH. She was the daughter of Delilah Owens and Julian Scott Jeffers.

Janetta Blankenship was born 7 Oct 1922 in Allock, KY and died 14 Sep 1989 in LaFollette, TN.
