Gen 31:
Wachelin de Ferres was born 1010 in Ferrieres Normandy France. He died 1089 in Normandy France, buried Castle of Tutbury Staffordshire England. Wachelin was married 1035 in Normandy France. He built Oakham Castle in Rutland England.

Henri de Ferres Earl of Derby and Nottingham was born 1036 in Ferrieres Normandy France. He died 1088 in Castle Tutbury Staffordshire England, buried Castle Tutbury Staffordshie England. Henri married Bertha Roberts.

William the Conqueror transferred ownership of Tutbury Castle to Henri de Ferrers in 1071 and Tutbury became his principal residence in a holding of over two hundred manors.

Henry is widely believed to have fought at the Battle of Hastings, 1066, as his name appears on various versions of the Battle Abbey Roll, though it is impossible to be certain. He was a Domesday Commissioner, 1086, and held some 210 lordships and manors at the time of the Survey, mostly in co. Derby, but also in 14 other counties, by gift of William the Conqueror. Founded a priory of Benedictine monks near Tutbury, Staffs. He married Bertha Roberts. He was buried at Tutbury.

Great pals with King William l, built a castle from which he administers his enormous estate. He also built the church, most of which we see now as he built it.

Gen 29:
Robert de Ferres Earl of Derby was born in 1062. He died in 1139. Robert married Hawise de Vitre on 1807 in Brittany France.

Robert succeeded to the greater part of his father's possessions in England. For his services to King Stephen at the battle of the Standard in 1138, he was created Earl of Derby during that year, but died the following year, 1139.

Hawise de Vitre was born 1069 in Vitre, Brittany France. She died after 1118.

Sir Thomas Ferrers was born 1395. He married Elizabeth Freville on 6 Jan 1457/1458 in England.

Biography: Thomas Ferrers, husband of Elizabeth Freville, to whom Tamworth Castle was assigned upon a partition of the estates of Sir Baldwin; heiresses automatically transferred their rights to their husbands. He made Tamworth Castle his principal residence.
