Jane Lancelot was born about 1661.

Gilbert Atwood Jr. was born about 1677 in Westmoreland Co., VA and died about 1745 also in Westmoreland Co., VA.
Gen 11:
John R Atwood Sr. was born about 1702 in Westmoreland VA. He died ab0ut 1750. John married Martha.

Gilbert Atwood was born about 1730 in Westmoreland Co., VA. He died about 1818 in Shenadoah Co., VA. Gilbert married Nancy Ann Young about 1752 in Westmoreland Co., VA.
Nancy Ann Young was born 1734 in Westmoreland Co., VA. She died in Warren Co., VA. She was the daughter of John Young and Christiane Bruce.
Gilbert and Nancy had eleven children:
- Mary Atwood was born about 1752. See Generation 9 below.
- John R Atwood was born about 1755. He married Elizabeth Roy 25 May 1780 in Shenadoah Co., VA.
- Edwin Young Atwood married Sarah Marks 28 Jun 1806. They had nine children: Martha, Nancy, Sarah, Jane, Thompson, Edwin, Moses, Isaac Newton and Benjamin Franklin Atwood.
- William Atwood married Isabella Russell. They had seven children: Lucinda, Elizabeth, Rachel, Rebecca R, Sarah, Susannah, and Mary E Atwood.
- Sinnett Harry Atwood was born about 1756 and died 16 Nov 1825. He married Letitia Wood.
- James J Atwood was born about 1760. He married Sarah Smith.
- Catherine Atwood married William Allen 9 Dec 1784.
- Ann Atwood.
- Elizabeth Atwood married Jesse Wood.
- Martha Atwood married Moses Allen.
- Marguret Atwood married Charles Sexton.
Gen 9:
Mary Atwood was born 1752/1756. She married first Joseph Featheringill on 07 Dec 1784 in Shenadoah Co., VA. She married second John Hancock Sr. on 30 Mar 1797 in Shenadoah Co., VA.
John Hancock Sr. was born 1767 in Shenadoah Co., VA. He died 11 Jan 1851 in Posey Co., IN and was buried in Hancock Cemetery, Posey Co., IN.
